  1. So you know about BibTeX, Internet Config, Alpha and the MacOS?  If not, 
  2. please read the file "BibTeX.ReadMe" for installation instructions.

  4. Quick install:
  5.   
  6.   • Put the BibTeX folder anywhere you like.
  7.   • Move 'bibEngine.tcl' to Alpha's "UserCode" folder.
  8.   • Rebuild Alpha's Tcl indices.
  9.   • Add the line 'eventHandler GURL GURL GURLHandler' to your Alpha 
  10.   preferences file.
  11.   • Open Internet Config, select 'helpers' and 'Add' a helper for 'bibresult', 
  12.   and select as helper the application 'Alpha'. 
  13.   • (optional) add a mapping for the '.blg' extension in Internet Config to 
  14.   type 'TEXT', creator 'Vbib', so you can double-click .blg files to open BibTeX.

  16. That's it; you can now run BibTeX from Alpha's TeX menu.  You may wish to 
  17. adjust your preferences in BibTeX's options dialog.  Double-clicking on 
  18. messages in the log window will switch you to Alpha where you can fix the 
  19. error/warning as appropriate.
